Paris Day 1

We made it all the way to Paris! We both managed to get a reasonable amount of sleep on the plane and were surprisingly refreshed arriving at Charles de Gaulle. We took the train into Paris and managed to use the exit from the train station which put us right in front of Notre Dam Cathedral. Since it was such a lovely morning we decided to walk from our RER train stop to the hotel rather than take the metro. It was quite a long way but an excellent way to stretch our legs and admire Paris.
We left our bags at the hotel and headed out to have some breakfast. The hotel is in the 7th arrondissement and the area is very residential with stunning tree lined streets and apartments with flower boxes.
After breakfast at a lovely cafe we headed off to see the Eiffel Tower. It was hot and busy so we just had a look from the ground. We hope to go up it later in our stay, hopefully at night time.

We decided to spend the rest of the day at Les Invalides which is right near our hotel. This meant if we felt tired we could just head back to the hotel and rest.
There was so much to see that we ended up spending all afternoon there! There are several war museums, a models museum, the building itself which is stunning and the tomb of Napoleon.

By 5pm we were feeling a bit tired so after a sandwich in the park near les Invalides we headed back to the hotel.
